Otterpool Park Moves Closer to Sustainable Energy Solution for New Homes and Businesses

26 February 2025

Otterpool Park takes another step forward to provide sustainably sourced energy for new homes and businesses at the new Garden Town in Kent.

Folkestone & Hythe District Council has given their backing for SNRG to begin the planning for community and stakeholder engagement to consult on smart grid technology and a solar park to support the pathway to net-zero at Otterpool Park.

We have been working closely with the preferred solar park developer, SNRG Ltd, to set out the requirements for the electricity infrastructure to supply residents and businesses located at Otterpool Park and developing a pathway for a net-zero exemplar development.

Early infrastructure provision at Otterpool Park is key to the longer-term development of the project and this, combined with the submission of planning for the Waste Water Treatment Works is a step closer to delivering the much needed homes and employment opportunities in the area.
